Botox® is the single most important and revolutionary new development in non-surgical facial rejuvenation therapy.
The results of Botox® therapy are dramatic when Botox® is injected properly. The woman in the photo below is smiling hard in both the before and after (right) image.
Botox® is safe, effective, and not only is useful for wrinkle removal , but Botox® can also prevent permanent wrinkles in crow’s feet, frown lines and worry on your face if treatments are started early enough.
Botox® works by weakening the muscles of facial expression that cause dynamic skin wrinkles, the wrinkles that occur when we smile, frown, look surprised. Botox® is most commonly used to remove crow’s feet, remove frown lines, and remove worry lines.
Botox® is safe, and Botox® is not a food poisoning toxin. Botox® is a synthetic purified chemical compound which has a similar structure to the toxin but it only has a local effect where it is injected.
Botox® has been used safely on humans for medical treatments for nearly 30 years.
Your Botox® Treatment
When you come for your Botox® treatment a numbing cream will be applied to the area to be injected. I use a #32 gauge needle which is the smallest needle made and is very tiny. Patients do not complain of pain!
The actual treatment takes seconds and there is minimal discomfort. My assistant presses on the treated area with a gauze sponge to prevent any bruising. I also apply ice packs to the area for the same reason.
The most commonly treated areas are the crow’s feet, frown lines, worry lines, lip lines, and occasionally the marionette lines at the corner of the mouth and the bands on the neck.
You will be able to return to work following treatment. Botox® is a no down time facial rejuvenation procedure.
