I am often amazed to see patients with stunningly fresh and beautiful facial skin who have neglected to take equal care to rejuvenate their hands, neck and Décolletage. The neck and hands are often neglected when using sun protection and when topical, laser and IPL treatments are used to rejuvenate and freshen the facial skin. The skin of the hands, neck and Décolletage often appear much older than the facial skin and this inconsistency disturbs the otherwise youthful fresh facial appearance. Sun damage and skin aging in the form of brown spots, broken blood vessels and dry rough skin is particularly noticeable on the hands, neck or Décolletage because these areas are more exposed to sunlight than the face. Fortunately, today we have very sophisticated IPL or Photo-facial treatments and new fractional ablative laser skin resurfacing technology which can more safely be applied to rejuvenate the hands, neck and Décolletage than was the case a few years ago.

Our new Palomar®Lux2940® micro-fractional Erbium laser can safely be used to resurface and rejuvenate the neck to remove sun damage and wrinkles. We also can use the Palomar® LuxIR Deep® to remove wrinkles and tighten and rejuvenate neck skin beneath the chin, although the tightening is not as good as achieved with a face lift, for those of you who do not want surgery the LuxIR Deep® skin tightening is the best alternative (see photo below before and after LuxIR Deep Skin Tightening).
