Full cheeks high on the cheek bone are a classic sign of a youthful face. As we age our full cheek drops and we develop a depression high in the cheek that makes our face look gaunt and tired. Radiesse is a long lasting facial filler that can restore a full high cheek and create a fresh youthful look to the face.
Radiesse is long lasting facial filler composed of calcium hydroxyl apatite. Radiesse does not cause an allergic reaction as do some other facial fillers. You do not need to be skin tested for allergy to Radiesse. In my experience Radiesse is the longest lasting filler I have used. Radiesse filler injections often last over a year, compared to some other fillers which last only 3-4 months.
The technique of using Radiesse injections to rejuvenate the face is called the liquid face lift. The term liquid face lift is used because the Radiesse is in liquid form when it is injected, and a special technique, the liquid face lift, not only plumps the cheek and other depressed facial areas but also lifts the skin.
The Radiesse Liquid Cheek Lift
Because the Radiesse injection adds volume and plumps the cheek, the sagging mid cheek skin is actually pulled up or lifted to create a cheek lift. This lifting also lessens the nose to mouth line or nasal labial fold.
The Liquid Lower Face Lift
The area around the mouth and lower face is nearly impossible to rejuvenate with a surgical face lift. A surgical face lift can tighten the cheeks, jaw line and neck beautifully. However, even after the best face lift, in time the skin around the mouth becomes lax and nasal labial folds and mouth to chin lines or marionette lines return. Radiesse or Juvederm along with Botox can be injected around the mouth to fill the depressions that make the area look tired. In addition Botox can be used to remove the lip wrinkles and lipstick lines. See results of liquid lift around the mouth in the photo below:
The liquid face lift using the soft tissue filler Radiesse is a safe, quick and effective way to achieve significant facial rejuvenation. Our results have been immediate, remarkable, and my patients have been truly thrilled with their results.
The Radiesse liquid face lift technique requires experience skill and knowledge of the technique by your doctor. Injections must be strategically placed to achieve a good result. A knowledge of the anatomy of the underlying facial skeleton and nerves is essential to avoid injury which is why I recommend that you consult a board certified plastic surgeon who is experienced in facial aesthetics and surgery for this procedure.
