Flushing of the face and enlarged or broken blood vessels are often signs of Rosacea and can cause a red faced appearance.

Recently, the use of a new light therapy called IPL or Intense Pulsed Light, also called Photofacial, has revolutionized the treatment of Rosacea and the removal of blood vessels from the face to reduce flushing. The IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments are very effective at closing down the enlarged blood vessels which cause the red face appearance that is seen in patients with Rosacea. IPL is gentler than laser treatments with less discomfort and no visible signs of treatment such as bruising which is so common after some laser treatments.

Unlike many lasers used to treat Rosacea and broken blood vessels there is no bruising or marks that are noticeable after treatment. Immediately after IPL treatment, the vessels are closed and the skin appears pink or red. This redness is gone in a few hours and you may return to work or normal activity.
