Micropeel®
Micropeel is a medical skin care procedure that refers to a combination of dermaplaning (scraping dead skin off your face) and applying a dilute AHA (glycolic acid) following the dermaplaning. This is referred to as “the lunchtime peel” because pinkness is minimal and you can go back to work after this is done. This skin care procedure was developed by Biomedic® as a useful adjunct to anti-aging therapies and is useful in patients who have sensitive skin who cannot tolerate the microdermabrasion.
It is also a very helpful skin care technique for acne patients. MicroPeel Plus is also available with added salicylic acid, which makes the peel go a little bit deeper for more effective skin exfoliation and the stimulation of new collagen growth in the dermis. This procedure is an aesthetician service that should only be performed by a trained medical aesthetician in a physicians office.
